WHY DOUBLE CLEANSE?

Thanks to self-isolating, some of us have found ourselves with more time on our hands than we've ever before, so why not become slightly more selfish with our skincare routines, for our self-care and well-being.

There is no time like the present so let’s start spending some of that time taking care of our skin. During the day no matter if we're at home, doing our daily exercise or working, airborne bacteria and pollution is attracted to your skin. If they aren't washed away properly, they could contribute to ageing, pigmentation and breakouts...

If you don't have a clue what we're talking and why our reasons for loving double cleansing aren't obvious we'll tell you in short... double cleansing involves using a cleansing oil, balm or micellar water to break down make-up, SPF, pollution and sebum on the surface of your skin first. The second cleanse will clean much deeper into the pores and help to prevent breakouts and remove any impurities so you can start with a clean canvas .

When it comes to your morning routine go with just the one cleanse to remove any sweat from the night and any leftover products from the night before. However, when it comes to our evening cleanse (in general) we believe it is better to do two quick, gentle cleanses than one long one. Think about it, if you have a face full of product, and you only cleanse once you’re asking that cleanser to do an awful lot in one go. Along with having to rub your skin longer and harder to remove everything properly you’re moving the product all over your face and potentially irritating your skin without actually cleaning it. Instead why not simply and quickly break it down and remove the first layer of dirt/products and then go in actually wash your face fully.

So how should I double cleanse? And can an oil *really* clean your skin?

Our recommendation? Our Peachy Clean milky oil cleanser (of course...)

Antioxidant rich and ultra-nourishing, this milky oil cleanser gently removes dirt, impurities and makeup whilst working to soften, soothe and hydrate.

Desert Milk™ complex - infused with antioxidant-rich fruit extracts and skin-loving Baobab, Rosehip and Jojoba oils - replenishes skin, for a peachy-clean, glowy sheen. With Glycerin a fortifying humectant to help restore and protect your precious moisture barrier, we’ve also added a secret complex designed to leave a silky veil of long-term protective hydration on the skin even after rinsing.

So an oil can clean your skin? Essentially as you massage amazing oils in Peachy Clean (Rosehip, Baobab, Sweet Almond, Jojoba, Pomegranate) into the skin, they bind to the surface impurities on your face (sebum, makeup, SPF, dirt and grime), allowing them to be comfortably rinsed away leaving the skin clean, soft and hydrated as the 'good oil' takes the 'bad oils' and dirt with them.

Follow up with a second cleanse, either use Peachy Clean again or follow with some water based, it's up to personal preference!
