A note from our founder Tiffany!
Let’s talk about us women!
Firstly, as a female founder of a new business I want to thank you all for your support since we launched! My biggest motivation in creating Scientia was wanting to help women feel good about themselves, so I hope Scientia helps empower you in one way or another! International Women’s Day for me is all about celebrating women and what we can achieve and it’s a great way to kick start some conversations.
I’ll be taking today to think about what I (and Scientia) can do to help make change happen, not just today but all year round, so if you have any suggestions or comments please do let us know! We love to hear from you.
I feel really lucky to have such an amazing group of women working with me on Scientia, so I thought what better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than to give my team a pop quiz on what IWD means to them! Here’s what they had to say…

What makes you feel empowered?
Being independent and surrounding myself with friends who support and encourage me
Why is international women’s day so important?
To show everyone how amazing women are and how the world would be nothing without them!
What can you do to help empower other women?
“It’s all about support. Whether that’s as simple as offering support when someone’s having a bad day, or believing them when they raise an issue, then backing them and supporting them through it’
Name a women you look up to and why?
I look up to my mum because she has always inspired me to work hard and fight for my dream. Without my mum I wouldn’t be where I am today.
What can you do to empower other women?
Give compliments! At work, at home, out and about. Make other women feel good about themselves!
Why is international women’s day so important?
To see women embrace, encourage and lift up other women, demonstrate this to the world, especially when we live in a society where women are made to feel like they have to compete against one another.
Why is international women’s day so important?
Solidarity – sticking together and supporting each other. Anyone who hasn’t seen Girls Girls Girls Magazine’s ‘Be a Lady They Said’ with Cynthia Nixon, should watch that. That answers the question!
